Donnie, the king, it was an honor to be apart of your life. Your presence was felt each time you entered the room. Gentle, bold, comforting. An understood language without any words spoken at all. We hope you’re playing the music when we too go to heaven, or so we can surely hope, with all our heart and soul, rest easy brother. Love you.
I wrote this to Jimmy when Donnie passed and he asked me to share here. Heather

Sometimes there are no words
When love and music
Are suddenly silenced
………
Condolences
Float by
Nothing can touch
The deepest hole
Of loss
……….
Slowly there is a beat
It comes from within you
As your heart returns
To that love
When memories flood
And tears flow
And emotions show
And you recall
The music that came through
Magical fingers
That left the most beautiful sounds imprinted forever in the world

Hey brother. I remember pushing Donnie along the streets in New York, and everywhere we went, wherever we were, you could always rely on Donnie to have this really broad perspective on things. It was like even though he was sitting down in that chair and a lot of the world felt like it was happening above him. He had this perspective where he was looking not down at things, but looking upon things, kind of like me right now in Ojai standing at the the lookout spot. I don't know what it was about Donnie that he could speak to things in life and speak to experiences and just see entire social situations unfolding.
But he spoke to it…
